Getting Started on Zwift



Road bike or hybrid that can mount an indoor training tire, Smart trainer, dumb trainer, rollers, Speed/Cadence sensor, Power meter suggested but optional Windows pc, laptop, MacBook, iOS device, iPad with powerful enough graphics card to run Zwift, Ant+ dongle, Internet connection

  • A road bike  or hybrid preferably with 700x23 tires 
  • Trainer of  any model - smart trainer preferred, rollers\power meter are options (non smart trainers are notorious for virtual power calibration issues. I can assist with using my crankarm power meter to help select the correct and accurate trainer model in Zwift)
  • Speed/cadence  sensor $60 
  • Ant+  receiver dongle $32
  • Heart Rate  Monitor strap $45 
  • Windows or  Mac laptop with performance graphics card and 4 gig ram, iPad or iPhone 5  or newer

Strava is a website and mobile app used to track athletic activity via GPS. Its slogan is "The Social Network for Athletes" and is the most popular online athlete activity tracking application in industry where you can even follow the top professionals online. The most popular activities tracked using Strava are cycling and running. The free version works great but for coaching the Premium version is suggested to be able to monitor heart rate, power meter, Suffer Score and segments. Premium cost $7.99/month or $59/year.
